Statement of Yokoyama (18 Aug - Aug 47). Anami, Secretary of War, visited Yokoyama in May 1945, to inspect the Kyushu defenses. In May 1945, Anami, the War Minister, came to WA Hq at thich time Yokoyama told him he was going to Yamae to take command of the 16th leaving Isa to act in command of 1A Hq. for Yokoyama, that if the Allied Forces landed in South Kyushu he thought it best to transfer the 16th still farther South. |
