Sadayoshi MURATA, testimony PP-89, when questioned about 10 Aug. 1945 execution, "-----I asked OHNO if he had been an executioner. He nodded and the only thing he said was yes. WAKO commented that OHNO was very poor in using a sword while beheading a prisoner."

Takashi OHTSUKI, Former Probationary Officer, IJA, Testimony PP-14, when questioned about the 9 or 10 August executions-----"Then I do not remember exactly but the prisoner was beheaded by OHNO." "Then I remember hearing someone yell, "stab him in the heart". I believe OHNO stabbed the prisoner in the heart". (PP-15) "I saw OHNO raise the sword with both hands over his right shoulder and then made the downward stroke." "Then I saw OHNO stab the prisoner in the heart."

Tatsuo ITEZONO, Testimony, PP-122, when questioned about the 12 August 1945 execution, "2nd Lt. OHNO of the Legal Section then went to the edge of the grave to be the second executioner" -----"The guard left and only the American flyer and OHNO remained by the grave. OHNO then swung his sword upward and on the downward stroke miss the flyer. OHNO missed the flyer's neck and hit him on the back of the head. It did not kill the flyer and he fell toward OHNO and lay moaning on the ground. WAKO ran up to the prisoner and he and OHNO helped the prisoner to sit on his haunches again. The while the prisoner was sitting then WAKO showed OHNO how to use the sword. The WAKO, returning to his former position and OHNO took another stroke at the prisoner's head. This time the head was half-severed and with a low grunt the prisoner fell into the grave.

Takashi OHTSUKI, Former Prob. Off., IJA, testimony PP-31, when questioned about the 10 Aug. 1945 executions, stated: "I noticed that 2nd Lt. OHNO was borrowing a sword from one of the probationary officers." "-----OHNO raised his sword over his right shoulder and with a single downward stroke, completely severed the prisoner's head." "-----someone remarked that OHNO did a little better this time. (Refering to the second prisoner beheaded by OHNO).
