NODA, Probationary Officer Statement of Itezona - 6 Jan 1947 (420) Noda was a guerilla Probationary Officer present at Itezona's briefing at 1330, 10 August, concerning the executions next morning. He was on the truck that took the prisoners to Aburayama next morning. At Aburayama, Noda used "kurate" on the sixth prisoner, striding him in the diaphragm and repeating this action two or three times. Then Enatsu showed Noda the correct way and Noda tried several more times and then was told to stop. Itezona believes Tomomori gave Noda whiskey. [Illegible Marginal Note] Noda also tried "kurate" on the seventh prisoner; whether this or another prisoner, he fell to the ground, but not dead. |
This book documents the legal proceedings of the December 1949 Khabarovsk trial in which twelve members of the Japanese Army's covert biological warfare Unit 731 were prosecuted for their war crimes. The trial sought to hold key leaders in Japan's bio-weapons program accountable for atrocities after WWII.
