Statement of Hirao (6 Nov 47). In early May there was a farewell party for Mori and Hino. Either at this party or a similar one at that time, about a week before the first operation on Prisoners, at the Doctors Mess Hall at First Surgery, Ishiyama said something about Komori bringing Prisoners and that "atemi" would be performed. They were drinking sake and eating at the time, some, getting a ’it drunk, Hirao did not think much about it at the time. Ishiyama told this to whomever sat next to him, but his voice carries and Hirao, overheard.

Ishiyama acted as if he wore making a joke. Present at this party was Mori, Hino, Torisu, Semba, Tomoki Tashiro, and perhaps Kubo, Nfcgawa, and Jiro Tashiro.

Statement of Nakao (10 Sept 47). About middle of flay, Nakao thinks at this time, that Komori told Nakao that the experimental operations were going to be performed at the University by Ishiyama, who Nakao thinks, he said was a former teacher of his.

Statement of Enatsu (23 Sept-31 Oct 47). One day Aihara came in the office around 1600 or 1700, told everyone he had just attended, with Sato, an operation on the American flyer, or flyers, at the University. That it was a ghastly think, believes he said it was conducted by Komori. He further stated that it seemed that Ishiyama conducted the previous research. Present were Enatsu, 1st Lt. Kochi and Major Natsuura.

Atis Translation of Oki Report. On a trip with Sato, he told Oki that PO Otani Komori of the Arm Medical Section, said that Yokoyama gave permiss­ion to send flyers to KIU, so they were sent to Professor Taniguchi Ishii Ishiyama, of KIU Medical Dept, as experimental objects for saline solution injections to cure diseases. Later Sato heard that permission had not been given, that it was Sato's responsibility that since this incident will cause trouble for the local inhabitants, he would like to conceal the truth from the U.S. Army, that since the students were tireatening Ishiyama he was going to see him.

Statement of Hino (5 Nov 47). In middle May 1945, Ishiyama requested Hino to transfer to a hospital to Miyazaki to replace a surgeon, and Hino was busy until the end of May, making arrangements only appearing at First Surgery 2 or 3 times. One occasion someone told Hino that a vivisection operation was performed on an American Prisoner in secret in the Autopsy Room in the Anatomy Section, A great deal of whispering was going on in the personnel cautioning each other to maintain secrecy.

About 15 or 16 May 1945, there was a farewll party on the second floor of First Surgery, from about 1700 to 1800, for Hino and Mori which included Ishiyama, Hirao, Torisu, Morimoto, Nogawa, Semba, Kubo, Jiro Tashiro, Tomoki Tashiro, Shiotsu and probably Muka. Hino was on the right side of Ishiyama, Mori on the left, Hino didn’t hear anything about operations on this occassion.
