Statement of Ito - 6 Jan 1947 (420)

Inada, Chief of Staff of Western Hqs. from April or May to 30 November 1945.

Inada would have seen the false Tokyo report concerning the 20 June execution with the Fukuoka air raid alibi* Sato and Fukushima said that Inada related that the atom bomb alibi might be accepted but that he objected to the phase concerning the Special Attack Corps. Inada and others agreed on the Hiroshima phase. Inada sent Fukushima to Hiroshima to tie in the alibi and make it definite. This was after Sato had gone to Hiroshima. Ito was told by Inada to write a report to the effect that the prisoners were unavoidably killed at Western Army Hqs, but this was not written because of difference of opinion. Inada disagreed (later?) with the Air Corps Attack phase and nxifamrit wanted to report that the remaining prisoners were killed in two or three bona-fide executions. After the war, Inada and Nishihara sent a false report to the CIC. After the war Inada sent Fukushima to Hiroshima to clarify the alibi. [Marginal Note: no ]
