Statement of Wako (25 Aug - 5 Sept 1947) Sato requested Wako to let him use some of the space within the detention'barracks to confine the PCs; Wako lent him 1-2 rooms on 6-7 occasions when not enough room to put them in their own stockade which was in front of the detention barracks, a-separate building used solely as a stockade for PCS, operated by Sato assisted by Aihara.

Statement of Yakumaru— (18 Aug 1947) 20 June execution - 8 PWs - Present at the execution: Sato, Murata, Wako, Ito, Toji, Onishi, Aihara, and other -Officers of the LS.

Aihara wrote the false report; it was sent to Yakumaru, who approved it, Fukushima then placed his approval stamp on it, sent it back to Yakumaru, v/ho passed it to Aihara, who sent it to the Message Center where the report was sent to Tokyo.

Fukushima told Yakumaru that if he were questioned by the Allied Forces regarding the remaining 30 PWs, he was to state that the 30 had been.taken to Tokyo by 2 planes, both lost enroute. This plan was agreed to by Sato, Aihara, Oguri, Yukino and Kusumoto.

Statement of Sato (17 July 1946) Komori went to the prison, examined the PWs, , submitted a -list to Sato. Sato told either Komori or Aihara to submit this list 1 to the General Affairs Section, and they handled the release of Prisoners, which was done. (PWs. to be taken to KIU)

Statement of Sato (18 July 1946) on 17 July 1946 - after returning to his cell at 1900, Sato called Aihara and told him that he, Sato, would take full responsibility for the army1s part, that Ishiyama and his staff had made a sworn statement that they were ordered by the army, that Komori told Sato that he had the permission of Yokpyama, that Sato then went to Yokoyama who said that he had given Komori permission through Horiuchi, warned Aihara that he was deceiving the Allied Forces.

Statement of Fukushima (18-25 Aug 1947) 1st Lt. Ohno was in charge of the Pri-soners under Sato; his place was later taken by Aihara. Yakumaru had charge of PW records of Prisoners brought outside of Japan and possibly Ohno and Aihara also took orders from him.  

Fukushima believes Sato gave orders to Ohno or Aihara and they relayed them to Yukino and Goiyama.

Fukushima checked his report (regarding disposition of flyers) with Sato, Yakumaru, Kusumoto and Yukino: Nakamura and Goiyama, but Ohno and Aihara didn’t get in until Fukushima had sent his report to CIC.
