Lt. Col., with Staff Hqs. from 43 in 6th Div. of 2nd Sec. - Operational Intelligence, under Col, Shin YAMAMOTO (KIKKAWA a member).

KIKKAWA made reports as to battlefronts, mainly as to air.

Does not recall KIKKAWA bringing telegram directing no further fliers except limited type be sent to Tokyo, but states he would have had to approve such a wire.

In early Jul 45, defendant was sent to Hiroshima on TDY to take place of 2A Intelligence Chief, who was ill* Knew nothing of disposition of fliers.

In Sept or Oct 45 KIKKAWA asked him if he knew of any liaison with Western Army Headquarters re sending ten fliers to Tokyo, but Defendant didn't know. Defendant was asked for advice as to what to do with the report re fliers; said that if Western Army reported 10 were sent to Hiroshima, nothing to do but accept.

On 20 Nov 45, Defendant went to Hiroshima on private business, stepped at Chukoku Hqs. where KITANO said the Western Army Headquarters reports they had been receiving were mostly false and Uhugoku would like to terminate concealment plan, but Defendant said he would like them to continue (Defendant was then with War Historical Sec. of Demob. Ministry).

In Feb or Mar 46, Defendant heard Western Army Hqs. -Chugoku report had been actually reported to the OF, but sometime after this the PW Affairs Investigation Sec. of Demob, had requested they be corrected, went to PW Investigation Sec., was told not to meddle in affair any more.
