Former Rank: Probationary Officer, Legal Section, Western Army Headquarters.
Charges: Executing an American Flyer at Western Army Headquarters, Fukuoka City, on 20 June 1945.
Evidence:
Sadayoshi MURATA testimony, page 82, when questioned about the 20 June 1945 execution, "I think that Probationary Officer OHNISHI must have beheaded at least one of the flyers. When I returned to the scene of the execution, OHNISHI was just washing his sword and replacing it in his scabbard." "He never told me that he beheaded a flyer but I overheard SODA, SAITO and SHIMOMITSU talking in a group after the execution. Some one said that OHNISHI was good in KENDO, but that he was not very good with the sword when he beheaded one of the flyers.
