Statement of Aihara (11 Oct 47). Aihara now states that in addition to attending the operation previously described, he attended a second series, which he later learned was a lung operation. Before the Prisoners were taken out of the detention barracks, shortly afternoon, Sato said "Come to the University", drew Aihara a sketch as to how to get there. 

Aihara arrived late, one operation had been completed, they had just about finished an operation on a second Prisoner. Someone said the second was a lung operation. There was a lung incision in the chest, Aihara watched about 5 minutes, stayed in the Autopsy Room about 20 or 30 min., smoked a cigarette, stood by the window. Sato,Makumaru were present, Yakumaru then suggested to Aihara they go home, and the two did so, Sato stayed.

Aihara saw the two bodies of the American Prisoners who had been sitting in the back of A truck, in front of the detention barracks, just before w 17 being taken to the University. One Prisoner was lying on the table partially covered, haying been operated on. Aihara heard later both Prisoners died.
