Statement of Aihara (11 Apr 47). All Aihara did was to take care of the Prisoners names. When the names of the Prisoners were not known, Aihara had 2nd Lt. Nakao of the Intelligence Section ask them for Aihara.

Statement of Kikkawa (1-6 Nov 47). Most of Kikkawa work was done with Inenaga, Intelligence Staff Officer. Kikkawa also met Yokoyama, Yoshinaka, C/S, (Inada became C/S the day Kikkawa left Hq). Akita, Major Haba, 2nd Lt. Yamafeaka and Nakao.

Statement of Okumura (3-15 Oct 47). WAH Intelligence Section; Major Kameyama, Chief, Capt, Aihara, Capt. Sakura, 2nd Lt Yamanaka, 2nd Lt. Nakao, Until 17 June, Nakao and Okumura were the only Niseis, then 5 or 6 came in-with 14 EM interpreters. Okumura audited American and Australian broadcasts, submitted to Nakao.

Okumura believes Nakao served as interpreter for American airmen.

In late May, Nakao told Okumura he had some interpreting for him to do, that he was too busy, that he should go to the detention rooms, find PO Komori who would instruct him. Komori told him that he was to keep the matter secret, that he should tell the Prisoners that the injections Komori was going to give them were for cholera.

Statement of Yamanaka (18-27 Sept 46), Under Kameyama were 4 Intelligence Officers: Capt. Sakura, from about 15 June; Capt. Zikuya, from about March 45; Lt. Nakao, from about March 45; Yamanaka.

Yamanaka overheard Nakao and Sakura say that Sato beat Prisoners.

Statement of Enatsu (23 Sept-31 Oct 47). Enatsu attended four interrogations of 7 flyers. The first was about 8 May, he was invited by Sato. Also present were Sato, Yamanaka, Nakao,-2 or 3 NCOs. Yamanaka acted as Chief Interrogator.

The next afternoon, about 10 May, Enatsu was told that Lt. Gen. Yoshinaka, C/S and several KT men wanted to question some of the flyers. Yanase, Yamaguchi, Yamanaka and Nakao were there. Yoshinaka had left when Enatsu arrived.

Sometime in June, Yamanaka and Nakao were interrogating a private in good health.

Sato came in, said in a fairly loud voice that he was going to KIU to see the research on the Prisoners, asked Aihara if he should take a soldier as an interpreter, suggested Nakao, to which Aihara agreed, and Nakao was

Statement of Enatsu contd ... brought in and told they were going to take some Prisoners to KIU. Nakao had a strange expression on his face, but went, was told to contact Komori by Sato.

Aihara then pointed out 2 names on the list to be taken, pointed out the one name with the 2 red checks, the other with a small check or circle. Was that of Williams. Enatsu read the names to Nakao.

Atis translation of OKI report. About midnight on 19 June 45, Capt. Jukuya (Zikuya) and 2nd Lt. Jukiro Nakao, came to see Fukushima in the Air Defense Operations Room. They said, "will you lot us decapitate the flight personnel?" Fukushima turned to Inada, who said decapitation will not bepermitted.
