Statement dated (12 Apr 48 by McKnight) - ATIS 39563 - About 0700 20 June, Defendant went to Headquarters to report extinguishing of fire, met Commander (YOKOYAMA) at entrance, reported extinguishing, then went to desk, talked to KUSUMOTO, was told the PWs had been executed, then accompanied YOKOYAMA to his billet. In Apr or May WAKO told Defendant they were making preparations to execute the PWs, asked for conveyance.
