Statement of Ishimura (420, 9 May 47) Ishimura heard from Mrs. Koshin Sato, his legal wife, that Sato had told her that Komori proposed to use the American flyers for experiment at KIU Hospital.

Statement of Sato (420, April 26, 1947) About 20 May 1945 Sato told Yokoyama that he would say that he gave Ishiyama permission to give Prisoners to KIU if secret disclosed to protect position of army rather than KIU using Ishiyama's name. Yokoyama thought a good idea. This was after Komori told Sato he had Yokoyama's permission to take Prisoners. Yokoyama told Sato he had granted request.

On first day of operations, Sato told Komori he didn't like to send Prisoners to KIU if all to die, Komori said he would take responsiblity, said he would tell Yokoyama this. Nakao or Komori said that one of the Prisoners in anteroom asked what he was being injected with.

Statement of Aihara (420, 26 Apr 47) Between 15-20 May, asked for Prisoner roster, since they were to be sent to KIU for operations - about 10 names. On that afternoon believes he saw Sato and Komori leave by truck.

When Aihara got there Prisoners blindfolded in car. Sato and Komori present. Komori then got in front, Sato in back and they drove away. (Komori had been called to treat the wounded Prisoners)

Komori and Sato were very good friends. Sato told Aihara that Komori was attached to headquarters hospital. Aihara introduced to Komori 2-3 days before first operation. Later that PM Sato told Aihara that Komori a very good liaison man between University and army and he was to take Prisoners to University for operations by Komori.

Just prior to 2nd time(operation), Sato cautioned others of necessity of secrecy. - between 1300-1400 - Prisoners then brought out, entrucked, blindfolded, and Komori, Sato, and Prisoners left.

3rd operation: About 1 June. Sato told him and then or next morning, Sato pointed to 1 (I believe) name to be sent that afternoon. In early PM Sato told Aihara to come along. Aihara then saw Sato and Komori outside detention barracks, who then got in staff car and drove away. Aihara arrived about 1500, operation already started, believed operation on head. Sato, Komori, 6-7 others there.

4th operation: About 1 week after 3rd, Sato checked 2 on prisoner roster, Aihara gave information to Goiyama that they were to be re­leased to Komori.

Statement of Akita (420, 22 May 47) In January 1946 heard from Sato that Komori had experimented on PWs.

In about November Sato brought list of number of Prisoners sent to various locations. Akita saw that 5-7 Prisoners sent to Hiroshima, Sato said they were killed by atomic bomb, also said Komori deeply involved in disposition of Prisoners at KIU, but believes latter conversation took place in latter part of November.

Statement of Morotomi ( — 19 May 47) In May 1945, Komori, who he did not know tillthen, told him possible to inject seawater into arteries to relieve rheumatism of joints— this on street car.

Statement of Hirao (420, 26 Apr 47) Komori told Hirao that flyers before operations were given injections of 1 1/2 to 2 cc's Narcopon-Scopolamin before being brought to hospital (by Komori). The usual dose is about 018 cc!s, given in 2 injections. Hirao considers above 1.5 cc’s dangerous, possibly fatal. 0^8 dangerous to some; reason of 2 doses Cannot state whether dosage fatal to flyers, but "in their weakened condition it could have been dangerous."

Statement of Sota (420, 15 May 47) Before 16 June, when Sota left Western Army Headquarters for 57th Army, talked to Komori during a drinking party in May at Kaikosha Bldg., told him nothing as to KIU, but after war heard that experiments were conducted at KIU on flyers from Ito, resulting in the death of flyers, this told Ito by Komori.

Statement of Ohno (420, 9 June 47) Ohno knew Komori, who graduated from KIU as a surgeon before the war and worked for Ishiyama in his clinic. Ohno did not see him at the University during the war, at which time Ohno believes he was with some other hospital, but heard from Ishiyama, his teacher, that he was drafted and served at Western Army Headquarters.

Ohno asked Ishiyama if he couldn’t find the names of the prisoners upon whom he had performed the experimental brain,operations, and Ishiyama answered that it was impossible to find out anything since Komori died.
