Maj and staff Officer in Chugoku Army from 1 September to 1 December 1945 who sent the following report of 17 November to the PWIB by Lt. Gen. Saburo KAWAMURA, C/S Chugoku A.

The report states that Allied flyers killed in the Chugoku District totaled 29, 9 dying in crashes, 18 in the 6 August atomic bombing, 2 on 19 August from injuries of 6 August. 9 were killed instantly on 26 July crashes - from B24s , their effects burned 6 August.

Of those captured 3 were sent to Tokyo 30 July, 11 kept at Hiroshima, all records and information lost except as to 2nd Lt. Ralph J. Neel and Radioman 3rd Class Norman R. BRISSET, who died 19 August from injuries in the 6 August bombing.

9 were sent from WA on 31 July, including B29 flyers Burankubekku (supposedly Blanck Black (PLAMBICK) and 5 others from the WATKKNS plane, 3 from a B29 captured at Yokoyama Mura, Yame Gun, Fukuoka Ken on 27 July. These records were burned at WAH 16 August.

20 were held at Hiroshima when it was bombed 6 August.

6 of the 11 were held at Chugoku KT, burned, unknown, but ashes kept together. Of the 5 of thell, 3 were burned 6 August, their ashes kept separately, but cremated indiscriminately (?) and NEEL and BRISSET were injured that day, died later, information sent to PWIB.

9 burned together with members of 224 Division, ashes with those of Japs.
