IKEDA, MICHIO (MASAMICHI) Statement of Yoshimura (16-28 June 1947) 1st Lt. Ikeda - responsible for written work, concerning pensions given army war wounded and preparation for transfer of patients from one hospital to another. In Feb. 45 defense plain formulated for Kyushu invasion; headquarters divided into Administration faction and Operations faction. In administra tion faction were Maj. Honjo, chief; Maj. Maeda, Maj. Kubo, 1st Lt. Ikeda, 1st Lt. Maekawa. Statement of Yamasaki (420, 9 June 1947) At WA Medical Section - Capt. Masamichi Ikeda - remained in Fukuoka with 2 others when rest of section moved to Yamaie. He took care of a detail concerned with preparation for a meeting of KIU professors when they came to WAH to confer with Horiuchi. Left at Fukuoka in Medical Section after headquarters moved to Yamaie were Yamasaki, Ikeda, and Fujisaki. Ikeda*s duty was that of liaison with persons outside army, such as professors; would be the one likely to communicate with University regarding research when medical section moved to Yamaie. About the end of August Yamasaki was working at Yamaie. Statement of Kanehisa (28 May 1947) Ikeda and Maekawa occasionally came to the Officers Club Hospital on business, but Kanehisa doesn*t know for what business. Statement of Tsurumaru (20-25 May 1947) Capt. Ikeda's job was concerned with pensions and finances (as for wounded or disabled veterans.) Sgt. Shirotani worked under Ikeda. Statement of Horiuchi (16 June-30 July 1947) Ikeda was responsible for giving medical treatment to the PWs, was in complete charge of the Prisoners. 1st Lt. Ikeda would submit reports regarding the medical treatment and health of the WAH Prisoners to Horiuchi. 4 December 1945 9 former WA Medical Department personnel held a party, including Honjo, Maekawa, Hishiyama, Tsurumaru, Ikeda, Kubo and 2 NCOs.
